We want you to absolutely love your jewelry. If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help and will guide you through the next steps. Because every order is a little different, the terms below are organized by type of purchase so you always know exactly where you stand.

Which Terms Apply to My Order?

  • Regular Ready-to-Ship Purchases: ready-to-ship, vintage and antique pieces, and made-to-order catalog pieces (such as our stud earrings, chains, and pendants) that are paid in full at checkout.
  • Ready-to-Ship Layaway: any of the pieces above purchased through our layaway program.
  • Custom Orders & Ring Builder: bespoke commissions and all Ring Builder and Build Your Own Bands purchases, whether paid through our standard 50/50 payment structure, paid in full upfront, or placed on layaway.

Regular Ready-to-Ship Purchases

Ready-to-ship pieces, vintage and antique pieces, and made-to-order catalog pieces paid in full at checkout are eligible for return within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, undamaged, and in their original packaging.

Pieces that have been resized or altered at your request are considered customized and are not eligible for return.

Vintage & Antique Pieces: Vintage and antique pieces are sold as-is and are not covered under warranty. They remain eligible for return within 14 days of delivery under the same conditions as other ready-to-ship jewelry, provided they have not been resized or altered.

These return privileges do not apply to layaway purchases or to custom, Ring Builder, and Build Your Own Bands orders.

Ready-to-Ship Layaway

  • All layaway purchases are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded.
  • The down payment and all layaway payments are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel a ready-to-ship layaway before it is paid in full, the payments you have made will be issued as store credit toward a future Ruby Harper purchase. Store credit is valid for 12 months from the cancellation date and cannot be refunded, transferred, or extended.
  • Purchases made using layaway store credit are final sale.
  • This store credit option applies only to ready-to-ship layaway. It does not apply to custom orders or custom layaway.

Custom Orders & Ring Builder

Custom orders include bespoke commissions and all Ring Builder and Build Your Own Bands purchases. Because each piece is created specifically for you and we begin investing in your stone, design, and materials as soon as payment is received, the following terms apply to every custom order:

  • All payments are non-refundable from the moment they are received, and every custom order is final sale.
  • If you cancel, no refund will be issued. You will not be responsible for any remaining balance.
  • Payments cannot be transferred to another piece, another custom project, or a different order, and cannot be converted into store credit.
  • These terms apply at every stage, whether or not CADs have been delivered, the design has been approved, production has begun, or the piece has been completed.
  • The same terms apply to standard custom orders, custom orders paid in full upfront, and custom layaway.

Standard Payment: Custom projects are quoted as a single total price inclusive of design work, materials, and production. A 50% deposit is required to begin your project, and the remaining 50% balance is due after final photos and videos are approved, prior to shipment. You are also welcome to pay in full upfront. Payments apply to the custom project as a whole, including design and CAD work, stone sourcing where applicable, materials, and production. This applies equally to projects using a stone you already own.

Custom Layaway: Custom pieces may also be purchased through layaway. Custom layaway follows the same cancellation and final sale terms described above. Payment terms are outlined in our Layaway Policy.

Projects Using Your Own Stone: If a project using a stone you provided is cancelled, your stone will be returned to you fully insured, with tracking and signature required, at our expense.

CAD Revisions: Every custom project includes up to five CAD revisions at no additional cost. Additional revisions are available at $60 per revision.

Detailed CAD renderings are provided for approval prior to production. Final photos are also shared for approval before shipment.

Any timeframe given for CAD renderings or production is an estimate rather than a guaranteed date. We will keep you informed if a project is running longer than expected.

Approval of CAD renderings and final photos confirms acceptance of the design, proportions, and overall specifications of the piece.

As each piece is individually crafted, slight variations from renderings or reference images may occur. Minor variations, natural characteristics, or differences in appearance under varying lighting conditions are not considered defects.

Custom Cut & Special Order Diamonds

Diamonds that are custom cut or specially sourced to meet specific requested parameters are secured exclusively for your order and are final sale.

All custom cut and specially sourced diamonds are accompanied by certification from a recognized laboratory such as GIA or IGI, confirming that the diamond meets the agreed-upon specifications, including carat weight, color, clarity, and cut.

If a diamond meets the agreed-upon specifications as confirmed by its certification, the order is considered fulfilled as agreed. Differences in personal preference, including visual appearance, brilliance, or overall character, do not constitute a defect or grounds for return.

We do not guarantee subjective preferences such as perceived sparkle, warmth, or overall visual appeal.

To ensure confidence prior to delivery, certification details are provided during selection, and final photos and/or video are available prior to shipment.

How to Start a Return

For eligible regular ready-to-ship purchases, please email info@rubyharperfinejewelry.com with your order number and details within 14 days of delivery. We will guide you through the next steps. You are also welcome to reach out at any time to report an issue with any order.

Additional Notes

Return shipping costs for eligible returns are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective or an error was made on our end. Returned items must be shipped fully insured for their purchase value.

Refunds for eligible returns are issued to the original payment method within 7 to 10 business days after the return is received and inspected.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies you may have under applicable law, including for merchandise that is defective or not as described. Covered manufacturing defects are handled under our Warranty & Care policy.

Effective October 18, 2026. These terms apply to orders, deposits, and layaways placed on or after October 18, 2026. Orders placed before that date remain subject to the terms in effect when they were placed.

By completing a purchase, submitting a deposit, or beginning a layaway, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined above.
