Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 30, 2026
Welcome to Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry. By accessing rubyharperfinejewelry.com, placing an order, or engaging our services, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please review these terms before making a purchase.
1. Bespoke & Custom Design Services
Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry offers bespoke and custom jewelry created according to the specifications agreed upon for each individual project.
Design & CAD Approval: Custom designs may include CAD renderings for client review and approval prior to production. Any applicable design or CAD fees are non-refundable and cover the design and technical work performed for your project.
CAD Revisions: Every custom project includes up to five CAD revisions at no additional cost. Additional revisions are available at $60 per revision.
Once a CAD or final design has been approved, production may begin. Changes requested after approval may require additional design, labor, or materials and may result in additional charges or an extended production timeline.
Stone Selection: Diamonds and gemstones are individually selected for each project. Natural variations in color, cut, inclusions, proportions, and appearance may occur and are not considered defects.
Client-Provided Stones: We are glad to work with client-provided stones. Each stone is reviewed before acceptance to confirm it can be safely reset, and the details of the project are discussed with you directly beforehand.
2. Orders, Pricing & Payment
Custom Orders: A 50% deposit is required once a quote has been approved. Because the center stone is sourced and reserved immediately upon receipt of the deposit, deposits are non-refundable. The remaining balance is due after final photos and videos are approved, prior to shipment.
Cancellation of Custom Orders: If a custom project is cancelled before final payment, the deposit remains non-refundable and the client is not responsible for the remaining balance. The piece remains the property of Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry. Once final payment has been made, custom pieces are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.
Pricing: Precious metal, diamond, and gemstone prices may fluctuate. Unless otherwise stated, custom quotes are valid for 7 days.
The scope, specifications, and pricing of a custom project are based on the details included in the approved quote. Changes requested after approval may result in additional charges.
3. Layaway
Layaway is available for eligible purchases subject to Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry's current Layaway Policy.
A 20% down payment is required to reserve a piece through layaway, with a payment timeline of up to 6 months. An installment schedule is agreed with you at the start of your layaway. All layaway deposits and payments are non-refundable.
If a layaway is canceled before completion, payments made will be issued as store credit toward a future Ruby Harper purchase. Store credit issued from a canceled layaway must be used within 12 months of the cancellation date and is non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be extended.
All purchases completed through layaway are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.
Additional payment timelines and terms are outlined in our full Layaway Policy.
4. Sizing & Resizing
Custom pieces are made to the size confirmed before production begins. Ready-to-ship pieces are listed in their current size, and sizing at the time of purchase is complimentary.
A piece that has been sized or altered at the client's request is considered customized and is not eligible for return.
Resizing or repair work requested after delivery is a paid service, priced according to the work involved. For any work outside a covered warranty repair, clients are responsible for insured shipping in both directions.
Clients may also have routine resizing or repairs performed by a qualified local bench jeweler. Doing so does not void the Ruby Harper warranty, though damage resulting from work performed by another jeweler is not covered.
Certain designs, particularly those with hand engraving or stones set along the band, cannot be resized without interrupting the design. Where this applies, it is noted before production begins.
5. Shipping & Delivery
All fine jewelry orders are shipped through a secure, insured carrier.
A signature is required upon delivery for orders valued at $1,000 or more.
Custom pieces are typically completed within 6 to 8 weeks from the date the first deposit is paid. This timeline includes stone sourcing and shipping, design work, production, setting, and finishing. Particularly intricate designs, specialty stone cuts, or unusually difficult-to-source stones may require additional time.
Any production or delivery dates provided are estimates and are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed to in writing.
Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry is not responsible for carrier delays or circumstances outside of our reasonable control.
International Orders: International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, and other fees levied by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost. Delivery timelines for international orders may be extended by customs processing.
6. Returns & Final Sale Items
Eligible ready-to-ship merchandise may be returned within 14 days of delivery in accordance with our current Return Policy. Returned merchandise must be unworn, unaltered, and returned in its original condition and packaging.
The following are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange:
- Completed custom and bespoke jewelry
- Jewelry altered or resized at the client's request
- Purchases completed through layaway
- Any other merchandise specifically identified as final sale prior to purchase
Clients are responsible for secure and adequately insured return shipping unless otherwise stated.
Please refer to our current Return Policy for complete eligibility requirements, exclusions, and instructions.
7. Warranty
Eligible Ruby Harper custom and ready-to-ship jewelry is covered by a two-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, subject to the terms of our current Warranty & Care Policy.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, loss, improper care, or damage resulting from circumstances unrelated to a manufacturing defect.
Examples of circumstances generally not covered include:
- Scratches, dents, bent bands, or other signs of normal wear
- Worn or damaged prongs resulting from regular use
- Chipped, cracked, damaged, or lost stones resulting from impact or wear
- Damage caused by chemicals, skincare products, improper cleaning, or environmental exposure
- Loss of a center or accent stone unless determined to be the result of a manufacturing defect
- Damage resulting from repairs, resizing, or alterations performed by a third-party jeweler
Vintage and antique pieces are sold as-is and are not covered under warranty.
If an issue is believed to have resulted from a manufacturing defect, Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry will evaluate the piece on a case-by-case basis within the applicable warranty period.
Independent jewelry insurance is strongly recommended for protection against loss, theft, accidental damage, and other circumstances outside the scope of the Ruby Harper warranty.
8. Materials & Gemstones
Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry works with both natural and lab-grown diamonds, colored gemstones, and precious metals.
Stone descriptions, grading reports, and material information are provided based on information available from our suppliers and independent grading laboratories where applicable.
Natural diamonds and gemstones may display variations in color, clarity, inclusions, cut, and other characteristics. These natural characteristics are not considered manufacturing defects.
Loose stones are sourced exclusively for Ruby Harper custom and ready-to-ship pieces and are not available for individual purchase.
9. Intellectual Property
Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry retains all applicable intellectual property rights in its original jewelry designs, CAD renderings, photographs, written content, branding, and other creative materials.
Purchasing a piece of jewelry does not transfer ownership of the underlying design or grant permission to reproduce, manufacture, copy, distribute, or commercially use Ruby Harper designs or creative materials.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, ownership, or use of our products or services.
Nothing in these Terms of Service is intended to limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable law.
11. Policy Updates
Ruby Harper Fine Jewelry may update these Terms of Service and related policies from time to time. The terms applicable to a purchase are those in effect at the time the applicable order or agreement is placed, unless otherwise required by law or agreed to in writing.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
